Serge Aurier insists he is happy at Tottenham despite failed summer exit
Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier insists he’s happy at the clubdespite being prevented from departing.
The Ivory Coast international said he would have liked to have moved on from Spurs during the transfer window, but instead made his first appearance of the year and two assists in the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Aurier, who last played at the Premier League in February, has had a very tough time in the club following his 2017 movement and he wished to leave because of some”personal situation”.
The 26-year-old is presently looking into the future and insists that there is no rift with boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Asked if he wanted to leave, Aurier explained:”Yes, but which has been the case before the transfer window shut, the transfer window is currently closed, I am calm and pleased to stay.
„I talk with everyone, I really don’t want to leave.
„I had something in my own head, but I did not wish to leave for the gaffer or the chairman (Daniel Levy).
„It had been my private situation and today it is OK, everybody would like to give me another opportunity and now I am happy to remain and happy to perform along with joyful for the success.
„We need to provide the best for this season and for the trophies.
„Nothing has changed in my entire personal life. I stay and now I’d like to prove and give my best for the fans, for the team, for everybody.”
