henryk malesa

Fine art photographer, manager, born January 9th 1950 in Szczecin, member of ZPAF (Union of Polish Art Photographers) and Foundation "Centrum Fotografii" - Bielsko Biała Coucil member. He cooperates with "Jazz Forum" and B&B Art Gallery in Bielsko Biała. Graduated from the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Law and Administration. For many years Henryk Malesa records by photography his two great passions: jazz and travelling.

Exhibitions:

Moment's notice - set of 50 black-and-white photographs; images of known jazz musicians, mainly jazz portrait; pictures taken at jazz festivals, concerts, in clubs. An attempt to retain music and performers with emotions and the atmosphere of place.

Towards human - set of 100 colour and black-and-white images of man in their natural surroundings with potrait or situation counterpoint; entitled series, each from 3 to 7 images from India, Mexico, Egypt, Poland, Switzerland, Russia, Canaries.

New Orleans, climates blown by the wind - set of 45 sepia pictures taken on October 2001, a kind of nostalgic walk through streets, blues and jazz clubs of New Orleans before the Hurricane Katrina in 2005. An attempt to recreate the city's atmosphere wchich has irretrievably gone, blown by the wind.

The exhibitions were presented inter alia at following galleries: BWA and B&B in Bielsko Biała, Silesia Library in Katowice, ZPAP Sukiennice in Cracow, Umelcov Spisa in Spišská Nová Ves, TNP Gallery in Płock, Sheraton in Warsaw, Centrum Kultury i Sztuki in Kalisz, Fleda Club in Brno.
